Welcome to Brantham Bowls Club
We are a thriving local sports club based in Cattawade, next door to the Brantham Leisure Centre.
Lawn bowls is a gentle sport providing low-intensity, low-impact exercise along with skills-based competition. We have members ranging in age from 10 to 90 years old, covering three generations of one family, and all can play with - or compete against - each other on a (literally) level playing field.
From April to September, we enjoy informal Saturday morning roll-ups, open to anyone who wants to meet up, practice, or simply try something new. These mornings offer the perfect opportunity for people who have never bowled before to come along and try it; all you need to bring is comfortable trainers and £2 for the mid-morning refreshments. There's no need to book - just turn up at 9:45am, and we'll get you started with some club bowls and coaching. Why not give it a try? You'll have a great time and meet many wonderful people.
If you decide to take out a club membership, you'll have the opportunity to take part in:
- Samford League (Federation) on a Monday evening
- Tendring Hundred League (Bowls England) on Tuesday afternoons
- Ipswich Triples (Bowls England) on a Wednesday evening
We also enter several cup competitions - which are keenly contested - and play friendly matches against other local clubs regularly. During the season, several internal cup knockout competitions are played, which culminate in a showpiece finals weekend in early September. There is also a selection of one-day drawn cup competitions in singles, pairs, and triples formats, which prove very popular - providing both competitive and social formats.
Bowls club membership also gives you a 10% members discount on food, drink, and events at the Brantham Leisure Centre.
