The Colchester Borough Bowling Association (CBBA) comprises eight clubs and two associate clubs that aim to promote lawn bowls in the Colchester region. CBBA, along with Tendring Hundred and District Bowling Association, forms Group 1 as a part of the county grouping of the Essex County Bowling Association. 

The member clubs of CBBA are:
• Arclight Bowls Club
• Colchester Bowls Club
• Colchester West End Bowls Club
• Mersea Island Bowls Club
• Severalls Bowls Club
• Three Clubs Bowls Club (an amalgamation of three different clubs, Colchester Colne, Saint George & South Ward, that bowled at the Recreation Ground, Old Heath Road, Colchester)
• West Mersea Bowls Club
• Woods Bowls Club 

The associate clubs of CBBA are: 
• Tiptree Jobserve Bowls Club (Group two of the Essex County Bowling Association)
• Mistley & Manningtree Bowls Club (Tendring Hundred and District Bowling Association), are members of other groups but still play in the CBBA.
