Possible Introduction of a Speedwatch Campaign
Wilmington Parish Council
As you know, speeding traffic through our village is a serious concern. There have been some serious accidents along High Road, particularly near The Plough. Speeding, especially along this stretch of road, poses a significant risk to the safety of our residents, especially children and elderly pedestrians. To combat this, the Parish Council, with support from Wilmington's Borough and County Councillors, is looking at organising a Community Speedwatch campaign.
Community Speedwatch is a national initiative where trained volunteers work with the police to monitor the speed of vehicles in their community. We are looking for volunteers to give up a small amount of their time to help with this important initiative. You will be fully trained on how to use the speed monitoring equipment and all necessary equipment will be provided. No prior experience is necessary. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Parish Clerk at clerk-wpc@outlook.com (or via the website contact form) by Friday 14th June 2024.
Please note that the introduction of the Campaign very much depends on the level of support given by residents
