As part of Alton’s Regency Week we will be going back in time.
Gilbert White was a keen gardener and our gardens here in Selborne are an unique example of an 18th century landscape garden on a curate’s budget. Let our Georgian gardener take you around the garden to learn more about Gilbert White, and garden’s in the time of Jane Austen.
Afterall the garden that Gilbert White left behind in 1793 was just behind the wall when the Austen’s would visit Selborne in the 1810’s.
