The brilliant historical novelist, Linda Proud, and Sylvia Vetta have organised a book launch event in Uffington on Sunday April 19 @ 11am at the Fox & Hounds pub. If you are interested in coming and would like lunch, please ring the pub to book (01367 820680) but you can attend the launch alone. Sylvia will lead a short walk on White Horse Hill after the meal and then go to the Village Hall for the prize giving for the Swire Art Prize. Sylvia has been involved for four years. She is a founder of the Oxford Indie Book Fair & considers the Swire spirit has similarities in its inclusivity. Exhibitors include professional, would-be professional artists and amateur artists.

Sylvia is best known locally for the Oxford Castaway series of the lives of 100 inspirational people with links to Oxfordshire. Her up to the minute relevant crime thriller, ‘Reptiles’ ends on White Horse Hill and the Ridgeway is important in Linda’s latest trilogy set at the time of the Roman invasion. Linda’s books are deeply researched and her understanding of Celtic spirituality outstanding.
