Behind The Archive: An Evening with Caroline Jane Knight

Join Caroline Jane Knight for an evening exploring The Austen Knights of Chawton Family Archive - the preservation work that's racing against time to save irreplaceable memories before they are lost forever.

As the last generations of Jane's family to grow up at Chawton House, Caroline and her family hold memories, stories, and insights that exist nowhere else on earth. When they are gone, this unique perspective disappears unless it;s preserved now.

In this entertaining and personal evening, Caroline will take you behind the scenes of creating the archive, sharing; why this heritage preservation work matters urgently and what's at stake. The breadth of what's being preserved, any surprising discoveries and a never-before-told family story about the inspiration behind one of Jane's most beloved novels.

Whether you are passionate Jane Austen , fascinated by heritage preservation, or simply love a good family story, you will leave inspired by the work being done to safeguard this literary legacy for future generations.
