A Talk by Professor Michael Biddiss on "Jane Austen's Heroines"

This talk will focus on the seven heroines presented in Jane's six major novels. It will not only review the features of character and situation that produce a considerable degree of resemblance across this whole set of protagonists, but also discuss how the author still manages to endow every one of these individual creations with an entirely distinctive personality as well. There may also be some concluding thoughts about what Jane chooses to leave to our own imaginations!
