🏓 Pickleball is Coming to Long Riston – Join Us for Launch Day!

We’re excited to share that pickleball is arriving at Long Riston Playing Fields—and you’re invited to be part of it!

Thanks to a successful grant application, supported by funding from the Withernwick Wind Farm Small Grants Fund and a generous contribution from Long Riston Tennis Club, we’ve been able to purchase portable pickleball equipment to bring this fast-growing and highly accessible sport to our community.

To celebrate, we’re hosting a Pickleball Launch Day on Saturday, 2nd May 1pm (weather dependent), and we’d love for you to come along and give it a try.

🎉 What to Expect

Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle before or you’re just curious to see what pickleball is all about, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved.

• Friendly, informal sessions throughout the day

• All equipment provided

• Suitable for all ages and abilities

• A chance to learn the basics and play a few games

• Plenty of fun and a great way to meet others

We’ll be using the existing tennis court area, where we can set up multiple pickleball courts—so there’ll be lots of chances to get on and play.

Pickleball is easy to learn, low-impact, and a brilliant way to stay active and social. Whether you come on your own, with friends, or as a family, you’ll be made very welcome.
