  • Another defibrillator acquired and installed and a second free aid/defib course laid on.
  • Bench at the top of Sycamore Hill installed with landscaping and planting.
  • Planter at the bottom of Bradwell Lane renewed and seasonal planting continues including much maintenance work on the planted triangle at the Buds Road junction
  • Christmas tree purchased, positioned securely on the triangle and strung with lights ready for Santa’s visit, and later dismantled and tree-cycled with a donation made to St Giles’ Hospice
  • Temporary road closure of Buds Road for Santa arranged in co-ordination with the Village Hall team
  • Footpath debris cleared and Cannock Chase District Council (CCDC) pressed into sweeping the roads and numerous potholes, problem verges and flooding reported to Staffordshire Highways and bus timetables requested for bus-stops where missing
  • Took part in Bee Squared with over 40 packs of wild-flower seed will be provided
  • Supported events open to all such as the spring event, emoji trail and photo competition.
  • Responded to consultations on planning applications and the historic environment plan. Monitoring the on-going process for new unitary authorities as it impacts on Cannock Wood.
  • Liaising with CCDC about management plan for Nunswell Park and South Staffs Water about with the reservoir site
  • A new website www.cannockwoodparishcouncil.gov.uk developed compliant with accessibility requirements for Cannock Wood. Village events can be promoted on the website and the planning tracker automatically updates for local planning application and offers single click through access to the detailed documents– if you take an interest in planning, take a look!
