The Council is gratful to County Councillor Alan Cecil for forwarding the following message from SGN -
We are writing to inform you of upcoming gas network upgrades in your area. These works are part of a vital programme to modernise the local gas network and ensure a safe, secure, and reliable gas supply for the future.
Who are we?
At SGN, we replace and repair the gas pipes in your area. This means we can continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to your community.
What are we doing?
SGN has appointed contractor JDT to replace ageing metal gas mains with new polyethylene (plastic) pipes on our behalf. This is part of a wider upgrade to replace old cast iron infrastructure with safer, longer-lasting materials that are less prone to leaks and disruption.
What roads will be affected?
Our engineers will start works in Baldwyns Park from the junction with Tile Kiln Lane, to the outside and opposite property number 17 on both sides of the carriageway.
- Start date: Monday 5 January
- Work duration: 3 weeks.
- Traffic management: Road Closure.
