BBC Radio Kent's Make a Difference awards are in their 5th year.

They are looking for amazing local people and animals who go the extra mile in our county. Through the Make a Difference awards BBC Radio Kent is looking for amazing local people and animals who go the extra mile in our county. BBC Radio Kent will be telling their stories and celebrating them in a special ceremony in September.

There are 8 award categories: Active, Animal, Community Group, Environmental, Fundraiser, Great Neighbour, Volunteer and Young Hero.

If you know someone or a group local to you who fits the bill, please feel free to nominate them directly yourself, which you can do very simply at the website www.bbc.co.uk/makeadifference
