Bicton Parish Council is supporting this year’s Best Kept Village Competition (BKVC), and we’d love your help to show the very best of our community. The competition celebrates villages that take pride in their shared spaces — and Bicton has so much to be proud of already. With a little extra help from residents, we can make our parish look even more welcoming for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

💚 How You Can Get Involved

We’re looking for volunteers who can spare a little time over the coming weeks to help with small but meaningful tasks, such as:

  • Litter picking around footpaths, verges, and community areas
  • Tidying and maintaining community land, including light pruning and clearing
  • Weeding around public spaces and pathways
  • Planting and caring for small areas to add colour and biodiversity

Whether you can offer an hour, a morning, or help regularly, every contribution makes a real difference.

🌼 Why It Matters

These activities don’t just support the BKVC entry — they help keep Bicton a place we’re proud to call home. Cleaner, greener spaces encourage wildlife, improve wellbeing, and strengthen our sense of community.

📩 Get in Touch

If you’d like to volunteer or find out more, please contact the Parish Council. We’ll coordinate small groups, provide equipment where needed, and make sure everyone feels supported.
