It was a busy morning, at Malshanger as volunteers began carrying out the autumn work on the green. Hollow tining is always a heavy first task and this year John Yarrall was delighted to have other able operators for the machines. By lunch time the green had been fully tined and brushed, all cores had been removed to the compost and the subsequent sweeping and brushing had returned the green to a more pleasing aesthetic state. Whilst this heavy work was being undertaken, the ditch mats were removed, power washed, laid out to dry and then stored. We have also stored away for the winter the outside furniture, the benches have been put under tarpaulins and the main sign dismantled and stored. There is, over the next few days, much more work to be done but we have broken the back of it and the Club's thanks go to John Y, John H, Jonathan S, Tony W, Richard S and Spencer for their support. If anyone else feels able to help, John Yarrall would be delighted to hear from you.
