Thank you to Cllr Peter Walters

Sadly, Cllr Peter Walters has decided to resign form the Council. Cllr Walters joined the Council in 2018 and has been Chairman since 2022. He has worked extremely hard for the community on a broad range of matters, from highways matters (road safety, speeding, pot holes and drainage), organising popular events like "Let's Talk Falls" and on the day set up for the recent Blood Pressure Clinics, to crime and policing, including lobbying the Police and Crime Commissioner on a number of occasions. He was also the Council's representative on the North Shropshire Area Committee, and as part of the AED Working Group he did regular checks on the community defibrillator to make sure it is always emergency ready, and much much more. The Parish Council wishes him all the very best and thanks him for all his dedication and hard-work on behalf of the community. He will be greatly missed.

Electors have until 23rd May to request a bi-election

The resignation of Cllr Walters now means that there is a casual vacancy which needs to be filled. Electors can request a bi-election to fill this seat, and have a 14 day notice period to do so. This notice period ends on 23rd May. If ten electors request a bi-election then one will be called, but if not, then the Council will invite applications from eligible people and will aim to co-opt someone to fill the vacanct seat as soon as possible.
