Do you know that Whitchurch has its own Village Green?

(Hands up I only found out in recent years!)
Where is is it?
Most people know it as 'Asda Fields', it is the field next to Asda Car Park.
As of 8th November 2011, it was registered as Whitchurch Green thanks to a small group of local people who secured this area for all the people in our area to continue to enjoy now and well into the future.
This year is the 10th anniversary of its existence.
Did you also know where the Community Orchard is?
I understand that 10 years ago a number of trees were planted. The formation of the trees was designed by an artist. When they have fully grown they should resemble a cathedral. The Orchard is on the map.
Again local volunteers have been regularly pruning and looking after this area. Just another example of local people, in our area, who care about our community.
Perhaps the next time that you are on Whitchurch Green, you can look for the large stone with the name on it and have a look to see how the orchard is doing.
