Forge Green at Halling Bottom, around the war memorial, now has a new information board installed there (see pictures). Halling Parish Council asked Halling Historical Society to research the links of the area with blacksmithing and then paid for the Society to have the board made. It gives details of blacksmithing there from 1634 up to the 1920s and lists several local families of blacksmiths. The board features on a new 'Halling History Trail' soon to be launched by the Society, online and with a printed guide, giving details of the fifteen blue heritage plaques and three history boards around the village.
