On the 24th March we had our neighbours from Adderbury visit us for our final friendly match fixture of the season. Not many of their players bowl indoors but that said they put up a good show for themselves. With chatter, and good nature banter all around the rinks, the afternoon flew by.

Our intrepid secretary brought in the necessaries for the running the event and catered for the needs of the visitors and guests who had come to watch. It was nice to play to an audience for a change.

Janet and Gerald assisted with setting up the event, with Janet playing her final friendly fixture as ladies captain, and Gerald obliged by running the raffle.

A big thank you to Graham and Dave for filling in our two spare places so allowing maximum team field. I had already filled out the rink teams so I had to slot them into the spaces that had been left vacant.

A get-well card has been out on the table for the week so everyone could sign it, and it was completely filled. I handed it to Brenda who thanked all who took the trouble and said Ron would be thrilled by the gesture.

Now it is only left for the odd league game before the charity match, but the rollups will continue every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday until April 19th and then the A.G.M. Monday 22nd of March.

Best Regards

Tony Smith (Men’s Captain)
