Invitation: Public Consultation on Proposed Waste-to-Hydrogen Facility at Manston
I am writing to invite you to attend a forthcoming public consultation event regarding emerging proposals by Hydrogen Transition Energy (HTE) for a new waste-to-hydrogen facility in Manston, Kent.
HTE is a British clean-tech company proposing the UK’s first facility of its kind, which would transform non-recyclable household and commercial waste into low-carbon hydrogen, reusable CO₂, and construction materials. The project aims to support cleaner energy generation, reduce reliance on landfill and incineration, and deliver skilled local employment opportunities.
An initial in-person public consultation will take place on:
Date: Saturday 24 January 2026
Time: 9:30am – 2:00pm
Venue: Manston Village Hall, Preston Road, Ramsgate, CT12 5BA
The event will provide an opportunity to meet the project team, learn more about the proposals, and ask questions directly. Members of the public will also be encouraged to share feedback as part of the early engagement process.
Further information about the project, the proposed site, and the consultation event is set out in the attached newsletter.
We would be very pleased if you were able to attend and engage with residents and stakeholders on this important local proposal.
If you have any questions in advance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Paul Plater
