Dear Customer
Second phase of essential water supply improvements, Lopcombe Corner, Salisbury
As you may recall, we wrote to you last year regarding essential work on the supply network in your
area, ensuring you have improved water quality and a more reliable supply for years to come.
The first phase of this work was successfully completed between September and December 2025
under a speed restriction and traffic lights.
The second phase will now take place from Monday 2 March to Monday 27 April 2026.
How will the work affect you?
This work will involve a closure of the A343 to all through traffic from Lopcombe Corner to
Jacks Bush. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of work teams and road users.
A diversion, using the Salisbury Road (A343), Andover Bypass (A303), Romsey Road/Leckford
Lane (A3057) and Salisbury Hill/Stockbridge Road (A30) will be in place.
Access will be maintained for residents, but it may be delayed at times. Please speak to our on-
site team with any specific access requirements. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
We shouldn’t need to enter your property but if we do, our staff carry identification which you
should ask to see before letting them in. You can continue to use your water supply services as
normal unless we advise otherwise.
What should you do?
You don’t need to do anything. For security reasons, we will install an alarm system at our
construction compound. If the alarm goes off when the site is unoccupied, or if you have any
further questions about our work, please call 0345 600 4 600 or visit
wessexwater.co.uk/contact-us
If you are a business or other non-household property you will need to contact your water
retailer with any enquiries. You can find their contact details on your most recent water bill.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by our work.
If you notice any changes in the taste, smell or appearance of your water following our work, it’s
probably not a cause for concern, but please call us on 0345 600 4 600 if you would like a sample
to be tested. More information can be found at wessexwater.co.uk/waterquality
Need some extra support?
We know that some customers need extra help due to age, ill health, a disability, mental illness or
additional needs. This may include easy access to water during a leak or outage, help reading
your meter, or setting up a password for when we visit. You can register for Priority Services on
our website at wessexwater.co.uk/priorityservices or call us on 0345 600 4 600.
