Last Tuesday, 8 August we were delighted to welcome our MP, Ranil Jayawardena, to the Forget-Me-Not Café to see what we are all about. Having been a Councillor with Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council before becoming an MP, he has a far better grasp than many in Parliament when it comes to understanding how voluntary groups work and what Government may be able to do to help local organisations like ours. He was very impressed with the range of activities available to those who want to do more than just have a cup of tea and a chat and with the watercolours on display, all of which have been painted in recent weeks.
