Godshill Parish Council has done something that we think no other council on the island has managed to do this year. We have held the household precept at last year’s figures meaning an effective decrease in the amount paid by every household.

At its monthly meeting on February 2nd , Councillors unanimously supported no increase in the monies which will be contributed by each household in the village.

However, the council will be spending more this year as besides some savings that are being made, funds will be taken from existing reserves. 2026-27 reserves will still be well in excess of that recommended for a parish such as Godshill.

You can find a copy of the budget at the end of this newsletter

The total precept that the council receives will increase by a few thousand pounds, with the inclusion of the new houses now occupied in Lily Cross.
