PRESIDENT BOWS OUT OF COUNTY TWO WOOD SINGLES

Last night at Farnborough Gate BC, President Mary Varndell bowed out of the County Two Wood Singles at Northern Area Final stage. Against her nemisis this season, Cove's Sarah Bowen, Mary had a poor start, trailing 0-4 but came back to level the scores at 6-6. However Sarah then took control and a run of three scores of two saw her holding an eight shot lead with four ends to go. Mary pulled back a two on the 18th end but was unable to stop Sarah clinching the game with 2 ends to spare. In the other game Allyson Flint beat Linda Haywood and will join Sarah in the Last Eights at Banister Park on Monday evening.
