RAF Shawbury - forthcoming events

RAF Shawbury have shared the following message with the Parish Council:

"We would like to give advance notification that we are planning for several events to take place throughout the remainder of the year at RAF Shawbury, subject to covid-19 restrictions. Some of these will take place on the airfield and will involve air display activity. I would like to reassure you that we will endeavour to minimise any disturbance to the local community, and also wanted to also provide advance notification to local livestock owners and livery stables.

12 August: Families Day – Displays by various aircraft, including a chinook and fast jets throughout the afternoon from 1300h -1600h.

9 Sep: Annual Reception – Spitfire flypast and Juno flypast at approximately 1830h.

10 Sep: Warrant Officers & Sgts’ Mess Battle of Britain Dinner – Juno flypast at approximately 1830h.

9-13 Sep: Support to the Cosford Air Show 11/12 Sep – awaiting details but understand that some fast jet display traffic and support aircraft could base themselves at RAF Shawbury throughout the period. Aircraft will minimise disturbance to the local population with straight in approaches to land and depart wherever possible, subject to air traffic control deconfliction.

24 Sep: Officers’ Mess Battle of Britain Dinner – Spitfire flypast requested at approximately 1830h.

25 Sep: 10k Charity Run on the airfield expecting 500 runners will take part.

1 Oct: Landowner and Rider Awareness Day – Falcons Parachute Display Team will display early afternoon.
