Residents may be eligible for a free septic tank upgrade

Residents with older septic tanks may be eligible for a free upgrade to a modern treatment system through a scheme run by Our Rivers in partnership with Norfolk Rivers Trust and Norfolk Environmental Credits. The programme replaces older septic tanks with modern package treatment plants that can remove up to 90% more phosphorus and nitrogen, helping to reduce pollution and protect local rivers and wildlife. The process includes a free assessment, installation of the new system, and ongoing environmental benefits, with a share of project profits reinvested into local river restoration.
