Shipley Walnut Tree
Monday 8th May saw the unveiling of the Shipley Walnut tree, planted to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, by Bob Philips - retired former Parish Councillor and Freeman of Shipley.
Shipley Parish Council Chairman Cllr. Baxter welcomed members of the public who had come along to celebrate the final Coronation Celebration organised by Vice Chair Cllr. Cuthbertson and Cllr. Bridget Huggett.
Refreshments were served after the ceremony in Andrew Hall by the Parochial Church Council in aid of the Church roof restoration fund.
Hanging Baskets made by Char Johnston Floral, a local business who were part of creating the official coronation flower arrangements in London were raffled over the weekend and tickets sold raised just over £150 for the new project ‘Shipley Community Hub’ spearheaded by Sarah Cuthbertson.
A wonderful Bank Holiday weekend to remember for all involved.
