As I'm sure most are aware, UK Power Networks experienced a power outage Saturday evening in the Thanet Area. This affected a number of key Water Supply Works. Customers weren't impacted in Cliffsend but Southern Water did deliver bottled water to some customers.

If you are vulnerable, live with someone vulnerable or are concerned about a vulnerable customer who would need access to bottled water as a priority, please call 0330 303 0368 to register for Priority Services.

Latest update from Southern Water, received today 14th January -

All our customers remain in supply, and taps are flowing as normal.

We continue to be in an improving position and producing more water than we need to meet demand, which is allowing us to fill our reservoirs. This means that, while there is still a risk that an outage at one of our sites could lead to customers losing supply, our resilience is increasing.

We’re exporting more water than usual again today to South East Water, given the very significant challenges they are facing, which is also slowing the rate at which we can build up our own stocks.

In the event of any problems with any of our water production sites, we will attempt to move water around our network to mitigate the likelihood of customer impact, but we will notify customers at the earliest possible opportunity so they can prepare if the situation does deteriorate.

Bottled water deliveries and stations remain on standby in case we need them, and we can begin deliveries or set up stations very quickly.

If you are concerned about a vulnerable customer who would need access to bottled water as a priority, they can call us on 0330 303 0368.
