Theft of Motor Vehicles - Maidstone District
Maidstone District is currently experiencing an increase in vehicle thefts. Recent offences have involved motorbikes, pickup trucks, and Ford vehicles being stolen. These offences are widespread across the district, including offences in Grove Green, Harrietsham, Bredhurst, Sandling and Hollingbourne. We’re asking residents to take extra precautions and make use of proven crime‑prevention measures to help protect their vehicles:
~ Always lock your vehicle, even for quick stops.
~ Keep keys and key fobs secure and out of sight, ideally in signal‑blocking pouches.
~ Use visible security devices such as steering wheel locks, wheel clamps or disc locks.
~ Install tracking devices or ensure existing ones are active and registered.
~ Park in well‑lit, overlooked or secure areas - garages where possible.
~ Remove valuables and avoid leaving anything on display.
~ Consider CCTV or video doorbell installation if parking near your home.
