The Parish of Alberbury with Cardeston serves the communities of Alberbury, Cardeston, Eyton, Halfway House, Rowton, Stanford, Wattlesborough and Wollaston.

 

****URGENT****  If you haven't commented on the future plans for Shrewsbury, known as Shrewsbury Moves, you only have until 22nd March.  These plans include a 20 mph limit throughout the wider town and traffic zoning, so you could only enter and leave town by the same route, and not go across the town anymore.  Access to the railway station will not be possible from this side of town.  More details https://shrewsburymoves.commonplace.is/

 

Also important *****  A458 Closures starting this Sunday 24th March, see note from National Highways:

 

I’m writing to inform you of some upcoming work on the A458.

 

We’ll be carrying out essential targeted resurfacing work on the A458 between the England/Wales border and Churncote Roundabout.

 

We’ll work overnight between 9pm and 6am, on Sunday 24 March, Monday 25 March, Tuesday 26 March, Wednesday 27 March and Thursday 28 March 2024.

 

To carry out our work safely the A458 will be closed as follows:

 

24 March to 26 March – A458 fully closed in both directions between A458/Yockleton Road junction and A458/Sandy Lane junction.

 

27 March – A458 fully closed in both directions between A458/But Lane junction and Churncote Roundabout

 

28 March 2024 – A458 fully closed in both directions between the England/Wales border and A458/Rowton Avenue junction.

 

During closures we’ll install a fully signed diversion route via the A458, A483 and the A5. Westbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in reverse.
