Some concern has been raised regarding weedkilling operations on the Cross Park 'plateau' recently. This work was commissioned by the parish council and carried out by the Cross Park Land Management Gavin Jones (Turfsoil). The work was carried out to spec. and the documents supplied are attached here.

The work was carried out by a sub-contractor on behalf of Gavin Jones with the relevant COSH for handling of the chemical in its undiluted state.

As a 24x7 public open space with a number of areas of access, it is almost impossible to notify all users of the work - it is not done often and this application was following a high degree of weed growth on the plateau area - especially the football pitch and surrounding area.

It is listed as a post-emergence herbicide for use on MANAGED AMENITY TURF, including lawns, and AMENITY GRASSLAND for the control of DAISY, DANDELION, CLOVER, BUTTERCUP, RIBWORT PLANTAIN and other broad-leaved weeds.

The contractor has been contacted and they have supplied all the relevant information about the work carried out.
