Service Times and Format

There are two morning services. The 9.15 am service is traditional in style and finishes around 10.00/10:15 am. The 10.45 am service is contemporary in style and usually includes the music being led by the worship band.

(There are refreshments in the Church Hall between the two morning services which gives the opportunity for people to meet between the services.)

The traditional Service uses more traditional hymns and there will be a sermon along with prayers. When the service includes Holy Communion, it will usually be taken from the Methodist Worship Book. The music will usually be either the organ or the piano, or a combination of both. In the contemporary service we use mainly newer worship songs/hymns and the worship band leads the singing. There may be drama/interactive prayers/ video clips and PowerPoint presentations as part of the service. The sermon may be split into a number of sections. Holy Communion may well be more informal and extempore. The 1st Sunday of the month is always "All age" and seeks to be as interactive as possible.

On the last Sunday of the month (and during the month of August), we have a joint 10:00am morning service that is a combination of both styles. This gives both congregations the opportunity to worship together.

During both morning services the words of the hymns/songs, along with the Bible readings are projected onto the large screen. Hymn books are also available for those who need them. There will also be an offering taken during the service, by passing round offering bags, so that people can contribute financially to the running of the Church. Visitors should not feel that they have to contribute to this.

Children

There is a creche for younger children during our 10:45 am service and our joint 10:00 am service on the last Sunday of the month.

Also during our 10:45 am service and our joint 10:00 am service, "Discoverers" meet - this our Sunday School for children aged 5 plus.

On the 1st Sunday of the month our 10:45 am service is all age and the children and young people stay in for this service and the creche is available for younger children.
