We are very pleased to announce that the Alton Tennis Club has been selected to be part of the Davis Cup Legacy programme! We are thrilled that our coach, Will, has the opportunity to be part of this LTA-funded initiative to bring new Junior players to the wonderful world of tennis.

The Legacy programme is an LTA-funded scheme aimed at getting more Juniors into tennis. In the LTA’s own words, ‘The Davis Cup Legacy is about inspiring the next generation to pick up a racket and 2016 will give thousands of new children the opportunity to play tennis for free.’

Starting in June (final dates to be confirmed - watch this space) Will will be running a free 6 week programme for Alton youngsters who are new to tennis. The LTA covers the costs of running the programme as well as free rackets for the first 10 youngsters to sign up and complete the course. In addition, Will will receive training for the programme at the National Tennis Centre and will also be given a GB Davis Cup team kit. Congrats to Will - great news for the club!
