Parish Councillor Vacancy – Ardington and Lockinge Parish Council
Ardington and Lockinge Parish Council currently has a vacancy and is looking to appoint a new Parish Councillor.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and community-minded individual who is keen to represent the views of local residents, help maintain Ardington and Lockinge as a great place to live, and bring fresh ideas to the Council.
As a Parish Councillor, you will play an important role in local decision-making, working collaboratively with other councillors to support and improve the villages. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in your community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Representing the interests and concerns of local residents
- Contributing to discussions and decisions on local issues
- Supporting initiatives that enhance the villages and community life
- Councillors are expected to attend Full Council meetings, which are generally held on the second Tuesday every other month at 8pm at the Loyd Lindsay Rooms in Ardington (January, March, May, July, September, November). There is also the opportunity to join and contribute to other committees. We currently have a Staffing and Planning Committee as well as the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. We are very keen to start an Emergency Plan Working Group to lead the development of an Emergency Plan for the parish. We also intend to launch a Playground Working Group to oversee the future development of the playground.
Eligibility criteria:
- Must be aged 18 or over
- Must live within 3 miles of the parish
