BT and Openreach are continuing to work on the connection of the new cabinet which will provide the superfast broadband to Upper and Lower Pollicott.

The cabinet did not pass the safety tests early in July and could not be commissioned in time for Pollicott to place orders by end July. BT Openreach have contracted UK Power Networks to rectify the problem. We have received the following assurance from Openreach:

The fault in the power network that is preventing the new cabinet from being brought live is expected to be resolved by the 8th August.

UKPN have provided us with this confirmation, but advised that we need to be mindful at this time of the warnings that the met office have set out. Barring any issues on wide scale power outages, we expect to have the fault fixed by UKPN and the cabinet commissioned by Openreach and ready to take orders from Service Providers by the 14th August.

Our teams will continue to monitor and keep the focus on this community delivery and ensure that you remain updated on progress so that you are able to keep the wider community informed.

We will of course keep you informed of developments; we are as disappointed in the service we are receiving as you are and are frustrated that this is dragging on for so long, but we assure you that we won't give up!
