Association of North East Cameroonians (ANEC in acronym).

ANEESCam (now called ANEC) was born out of the need by Cameroonians in the North East of England in the United Kingdom to meet occasionally to socialise, share stories of their experiences, their lives in the UK and particularly the North East of England. Meetings are held  monthly on the second Sunday of each month. This presents the opportunities for members to catch-up on the latest news from the North East of England and from Cameroon (pays).  Members also meet on special occasions to celebrate birthdays, christenings, weddings, graduations, new born babies (born house). Members also pay visits where possible, to check on sick or hospitalised members. We also join members to condole with them during bereavements.

Formed in 2025, the organisation today has more than 30 regular members. Membership is obtained through a  yearly registration fee. ANEC  is apolitical, dealing mostly with community development, social inclusion and cultural integration. The long term objective of this organisation is to become a registered UK charity. The funding from ANEC' s activities and fund raising will be channelled to sponsor good causes in Cameroon and the North East of England.  ANEC  has a constitution and is run by an elected executive, comprising of a President, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Social Secretary, Chief Whip and two advisers.  The majority of ANEC's decisions are arrived at by general consensus.

Not withstanding the fact that ANEC  is essentially a Cameroonian organisation, it's membership is open to anyone who wishes to contribute and share in the ideals of this expanding and increasingly popular organisation. Current membership draws from Cameroon, Nigeria, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
