Update from Cllr Rachel Bailey regarding road Closures

Wednesday 19 August: Temporary Traffic Lights are due to be erected on Shropshire Street, close to the Windmill Drive Junction, to allow works to replace a BT pole.

Monday 24 August: Coole Lane closure to allow BT works between Whitchurch Road (A525) junction and Back Coole Lane/Brickwall Farm.

A500 Basford Bridge : Following the discovery of a defective bridge expansion joint, lane one is closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions as an immediate safety measure. Traffic management, signage and variable message signs (VMS) are in place to help keep road users informed.

Repair works are currently planned as follows:

• 14 September 2026: Full westbound closure between Meremoor Moss Roundabout and Cheerbrook Roundabout, 8pm to 5am.
• 15 September 2026: Full eastbound closure, same locations and times.

Audlem Road, Wybunbury Ward, Hatherton, CW5 7PQ from the junction of Park Lane to the junction of Hatherton Road 14 to 18 September, to allow drainage works.

London Road (A51) Stapeley: A closure is planned, to complete micro resurfacing and are scheduled to take place between 19th October 2026 to 27th October 2026.
