Captains Shield
2017
The Captains Shield is a 3 Wood Singles Knockout Competition played over 3 sets of 7 ends. A player scores 2 points for winning a set and 1 point for drawing a set. Once a player scores 4 points the game is over and no further sets need to be played. If after 3 sets the game is tied 3-3 (three drawn sets or each player winning 1 set each and drawing 1 set) then a final end is played with the winner of the end winning the entire match.
A coin toss should take place at the start of the 1st set, the winner having the jack at the start of the 1st set and the loser having the jack at the start of the 2nd set. A coin toss should take place at the start of the 3rd set, if required. If a final end is required a coin toss should be made to decide who start the end.
