Who we are/What we do

The Bardwell Playing Field Association was formed as a registered charity in 1964, to provide sports and recreation facilities for the village.  In 1969, the present site in Spring Road was officially opened.

All residents of Bardwell village over the age of 16 are automatically members of the Association.  At the Annual General Meeting they can nominate and elect the Management Commitee.  As well as these elected members, some Committee members are nominated by various organisations to represent their organisation.

The Management Committee members must be over 18 years old, they are unpaid.  As the Charity Trustees they are responsible for the general management and day to day running of the Playing Field.

They have to work according to the governing document, which is in this case the Conveyance that was drawn up when the land was purchased and transferred to the Parish Council.

The Parish Council holds the land in trust, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Bardwell and is the Custodian Trustee.
