A detailed Ground Investigation survey is due to take place at Blackfriars from the week commencing 07 June 2021. This work involves digging deep boreholes and trial pits to ascertain the ground conditions in order to understand the type of foundations which will be necessary for the forthcoming residential development. This work will be carried out by Southern Testing, a Sussex-based consultancy with extensive experience of this type of survey work.

A machine will be on site to dig the boreholes. This machine will be fenced off while the borehole is dug, then the machine (and fencing) will be moved to the next location to dig the next borehole. Any boreholes or trial pits will be filled in before the machine moves to the next location. There will also be a small welfare unit on site for the duration of these works. The survey is expected to take four to six weeks.

All work has been planned in collaboration with ecological consultants. Some additional clearance may be necessary, and this will be carried out in accordance with the ecological strategy for the site, under an ecological watching brief.

If you have any questions regarding this development, please email: Consultations@rother.gov.uk

Thank you for your patience while we carry out this work.
