Chicane

A cold but sunny winters day in February saw our sheer enthusiasm take us up towards the chicane (whilst we left Gordon to carry on with the improvements to the bus stop outside the Methodist Chapel).

The footpath from the bus shelter to the chicane was full of compressed leaves, mud and gravel which had accumulated over the winter.

Armed with brushes, shovels and sacks we scraped and swept the area and filled about 6 sacks of debris from the area.

Another day, another difference and lots of comments to thank us for doing so. Brilliant.

In late June 2017, thanks to the support of Bearpark Parish Council we took over the maintenance of the four ‘planters’ in the village.

Chris and Ian cleaned out two of them and swept up debris on the street and gullies, adjacent to the planters (by the shops).

We have two more to attend to (outside the aged miners homes and beside the seat opposite the Ushaw Moor junction). Gordon is pulling together plans for seasonal displays that will be changed 3 times per annum. We should have our first display in the next few weeks.
