Less than a week left of Kidderminster town centre survey
Bewdley Town Council
An online survey asking residents, businesses and visitors to Kidderminster for their thoughts on the future of the town centre will close next Thursday (26 November) at 5pm.
More than 1750 people have already had their say on how they think the town centre could be made into a better place over the next twenty years.
The council would like even more people to take part - especially those aged 25 and under - to make sure views of all age groups are taken into account.
The survey is available at www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/towncentresurvey.
It has been designed to establish current views on the town and includes questions about shopping habits before and during the coronavirus pandemic, reasons to visit the town and more.
Appointed by Wyre Forest District Council, HemingwayDesign and New Masterplanning will draw together feedback from local residents and businesses, feasibility studies and other key statistics to inform a vision for the town centre.
Councillor Fran Oborski, Wyre Forest District Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and Capital Investments, said: “We are delighted with the amount of responses we have received to the survey so far but we would love to get even more.
“We are working with HemingwayDesign and New Masterplanning to create a vision for Kidderminster town centre in 2040. This is a really exciting project and I urge everyone, particularly anyone under the age of 25 to have their say as they are not as well represented in the responses so far, and this will directly impact on their future.
“All responses will be taken into consideration when drawing up the blueprint for Kidderminster and our other town centres to help them tackle the unprecedented market changes.”
Wayne Hemingway MBE Co-Founder of HemingwayDesign said: “The response to the Kidderminster town vision survey is really heartening. With approaching 2000 people opening their minds we are being given a real insight into what Kidderminster residents, businesses and visitors to the town centre feel about what they want from the future of their town centre.
“The positive and open way that people are responding stands this project in good stead and we look forward to sharing the results in detail and the ideas that flow from it. The survey closes on Thursday 26 November so please spread to word to those young, old and in-between who haven’t yet completed it.”
