Bilton Bowling Club

Find us on Facebook   http://www.facebook.com/biltonbowlsclub

The club is located in Bilton village which is found to the south of Rugby. It is a small friendly mixed club providing an opportunity for members to participate in both internal club competitions, team matches against local clubs, both friendly and competitive, as well as enjoying a friendly roll-up with other members and friends. The club is run as a Community Amateur Sports Club.

The Club is very much a members club run solely by volunteer members via a Management Committee. Members are encouraged to take part throughout the year in both indoor and outdoor activities ranging from match day teas to ground work and over recent years the club has been the proud recipient of a "Rugby in Bloom" award including Silver in 2023.

The club opens for the summer season in Mid April and the green is open from 11am to Dusk daily. Friday evenings (from 6.00pm) are set aside for a "Club Night" for members, and new players are welcome to attend to have a try.

The Club Bar is open on Friday evenings throughout the year and then for social events, matches and functions.

The Men participate in a midweek triples cup competition on Thursday evenings with 5 other clubs in Rugby. There are also regular friendly matches on Saturday afternoons and some midweek matches. The Ladies take part in a competition on a Sunday with 5 other local Rugby clubs and also enjoy both midweek and Saturday friendlies.

The club is affiliated to:

  • Bowls England
  • Warwickshire County Bowling Association
  • Warwickshire Women’s Bowling Association
  • Rugby Bowling Association

The club house is available to hire for private functions and meetings. Please use the Booking Form (found under Hall) to make initial contact.

The local Ramblers group use the hall for their meetings and New Year’s Eve celebration.

In 2005 the club, with the aid of a grant from Rugby Portland Cement Benevolent Society, built a single artificial surface rink. This has been used by local Schools, Youth Groups and other Community groups by arrangement and was refurbished in 2023.

During the winter Off Season members continue to meet on Friday’s and the club runs various activities and social events. There are many tasks in maintaining the happy running of a lawn bowls club and many members work throughout the year to keep things running smoothly. We are very proud of our clubhouse, green and grounds which are tended and polished throughout the year.
