Organisers of this week’s successful Hog Roast are already making plans for next year’s event. Last Monday several hundred people flocked in warm sunshine for this year’s event with adult and children’s tug of war back on the programme for the first time for several years. Stancey Coughlan, who’s leading the new Committee running the Roast, called a meeting for Wednesday this week (7pm at the Masons) to start thinking about next year. Stancey told us: “What an awesome day it was on Monday. Thank you to everyone who helped and to all those who came to the event and helped make it such a success. Now we need more volunteers for the new Committee so that we can make next year even better. I would like to thank the old Committee, in particular Gerald and Lesley Shervington, for all their work on the Hog Roast over the past twenty years.”
