Bishopstoke Parish Council

About Us

Neighbourhood Plan Survey

By now every household in Bishopstoke should have received a Neighbourhood Plan questionnaire through their door. The Parish Council is working with a group of local residents to produce a Neighbourhood Plan and it needs to be based on the views of our residents so please take the time to complete it and drop it off at one of the places listed on the questionnaire itself.  You can also complete the survey online (it takes about 5 minutes), and find out more information about what the Neighbourhood Plan process is and what we are doing by going to www.bishopstokenp.org.

We would encourage every person, young or old, to complete the questionnaire as the more views we hear, the better. If there are 3 people in your house, all 3 of you can fill one in. We can even deliver extra copies to your house if you need them. Please use the contact details on the Neighbourhood Plan website to get in touch, or simply email the Clerk of Bishopstoke Parish who will get some sent out to you.

The closing date for returning questionnaires is the end of January, so please make sure you have your say before then.

If you are interested in getting involved on a regular basis, or just when you can, please get in touch also. We can always use more volunteers.

Parish Meetings

The next meeting of the Planning Committee takes place in the Parish office on Tuesday 23rd January at 7:00pm. The doors will be open from 6:45pm for anyone wishing to view the planning documents. The agenda is available here.

The Full Council will meet at 7:30pm on the same day, following the Planning Committee. The document pack, including the agenda, is available here.

Panto comes to Bishopstoke

Bishopstoke Players brings a traditional family pantomime to the Memorial Hall in January, with its production of "Little Red Riding Hood", by Paul Reakes.

Pantovia is in turmoil! Prince Rupert, the next in line to the throne, has fled the land and the evil Count De Cash is ruler! However, a dashing young man turns up with his butler to try and solve the crisis. But what can he do and why does his butler keep him close by? Will Pantovia once again become a bustling town or is it doomed forever?

This traditional pantomime is full of songs, dances and jokes, along with twists and turns at every corner and plenty of opportunity for audience participation!

Performances are in Bishopstoke Memorial Hall from Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th January 2018 at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Saturday 27th at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £8 (£6 for those aged 16 or under) and are available from 1st December at www.bishopstokeplayers.uk, by email to boxoffice@bishopstokeplayers.uk or phone (07871) 006551. Like all Bishopstoke Players' productions, proceeds will be donated to the charity Action for Children. This amateur production of "Little Red Riding Hood" is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD.

Work for the Parish Council

The Parish Council currently has both building and fencing work available. Any local company wishing to be included on the mailing list to quote for these and future jobs should contact the Clerk on Bishopstoke.pc@btconnect.com.

In particular, quotes would be welcome for a substantial fencing job at Bishopstoke Cemetery. The specification for the job is available here.
