Parish Council grants

The Parish Council has awarded grants this month of £1,000 to the Friends of Stoke Park, towards the costs of renovating their planted areas, £1,000 to Stoke Park Infants Association towards the next phase of their exciting outdoor play area, and £800 to 1st Bishopstoke Scouts to replace the doors to their storage area so that equipment can be kept safe and dry.


Armistice Service

The Armistice Service at Bishopstoke Memorial Hall was well attended as usual, and was a solemn marking of the day. The local churches gave the service and wreaths were laid by a number of community groups. We now look for to next year’s service, being the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.


Tree warden training

Cllr Geoff Harris, our tree warden, has now completed a Lantra Tree Survey and Inspection course run by Dale Valley training.


Carnival 2018

Bishopstoke Carnival 2018 will be held on the weekend of September 15th and 16th. The theme is Under the Sea.  Look out for more news soon.


Local Plan meeting

Eastleigh Borough Council is holding a meeting on December 11th at the Ageas Bowl at which a decision will be taken on the Local Plan. Anyone wishing for more information or to attend should visit the Borough website (www.eastleigh.gov.uk) for further details.


The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Tuesday 23 January 2018 at 7.30pm in the Parish Council Office, Riverside, Bishopstoke.

Bishopstoke Parish Council Office

The Parish Council Office is located next to the Bishopstoke Memorial Hall on Riverside.  The office is usually open - Monday 10:00am to 1:30pm & 2:30pm to 6:00pm, Tuesday 12:30pm to 5:00pm, Thursday 10:00am to 2:00pm and Friday 10:00am to 2:30pm. As these hours can be affected by meetings it is best to check the website for up to date information for the week.

The Office also has information on local events and support services and the Office telephone number is 02380 643428.  There is an answerphone facility if you call out of hours.  Do call in if you see the light on!
