Bowls Football

RULES FOR BOWLS FOOTBALL

1. Bowls Football is a Triples Competition with each game being played over 14 ends (weather permitting).

2. The HOME team is on the left of the scorecard, keeps the card and kicks off the match. On the card, goals should be shown with a "G" and penalty goals with a "P". There are no trial ends.

3. Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win, and 1 point each for a draw.

4. If teams are level on points at the end of the season, goal difference will determine the winners.

5. The object of the game is for one team to draw THREE woods closest to the jack to score a goal. Only one goal can be scored on each end.

6. Normal rules apply for setting the jack. If the jack is cast out of the rink or is not up, send it back to the opposition.

7. If the jack is hit out of the rink during play, a PENALTY is awarded to the opposition. Note that the ditch at the end of the rink is considered "out of the rink". The end is immediately declared as a dead end and is counted as a played end.

8. The PENALTY is taken at the end of the next head. The TWO nearest woods to the jack played by the offending team are removed. This could result in a goal being scored by the opponents.

9. If the jack is hit out of the rink or into the back ditch on the LAST END, then your opponents are immediately awarded a PENALTY GOAL ... and that is the end of the game!!!

10. A Substitute may be brought in if one of your players is not available. You are NOT allowed to find your own substitute. You need to contact Eddy Stephenson in good time and he will allot the substitute from the registered list. A substitute may play for any number of teams and in any position. If all available substitutes are used, then you will be allowed to either play the game with two players or postpone your game. If you choose to postpone the game, it must be played BEFORE the next round of matches.

11.  Order of Play with one player missing:

Team A has 2 players; Team B has 3 players

             Lead  A                             Lead  B
