What we do

Many of you will be aware that every December we accompany Father Christmas and his sleigh as he visits Boroughbridge and the surrounding villages. This is our biggest fundraising activity of the year.

We also organise the annual Family Cycle Day which is usually held in May/June.  This event attracts many participants who cycle from Boroughbridge to Great Ouseburn and back.

The Latest addition to our events is the annual Boroughbridge Summer Fête which is usually held in May/June.  This event attracts many local Charities and the local community to a wonderful day.

In addition to this we help other organisations by:

  • marshalling at their events such as the Knaresborough Bed Race, the Aldborough & Boroughbridge Agricultural Show
  • supporting Boroughbridge Community Charity in many of their activities

We are very grateful to the many volunteers who help us with our events such as Boroughbridge Guides, Boroughbridge Scouts, the Young Farmers, and our friends and families. Their help is invaluable.

In addition to the practical help we get from the people mentioned above we get a huge amount of sponsorship and raffle prizes etc from the local businesses/shops - again we are very grateful for their support.

We also hold several social events throughout the year.

The majority of monies raised by the Club are put back into our local community to help deserving individuals, families, clubs and organisations such as:

  • In conjunction with Boroughbridge Community Charity we set up Boroughbridge Community Larder
  • We have donated £1000 to the Martin House Children’s Hospice
  • We have donated to Boroughbridge Primary School to assist with the cost of repairing playground equipment
  • We purchased a portable keyboard for Boroughbridge St James Parish Church
  • We assisted with the cost of new IT equipment for Great Ouseburn School
  • We purchased kit for Boroughbridge High School Girls football team
  • We contributed to the cost of outdoor lighting for use by Inspire Youth Charity
  • We assisted with the cost of costumes and equipment for Generation Dance
  • Royal British Legion, Boroughbridge
