Cllr Bryan Sumner

Cllr Bryan Sumner, Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council

I lived in Bourton from 1983 to 2021 with my wife Shirley and not forgetting Suzi our chocolate labrador. We have three daughters who attended the local schools. They are all now married and between them we have eight grandchildren. They form a significant part of our lives. I retired in 2002 having spent most of my working life in an industrial setting, the latter years, running the European Service and Parts Operation for an American Multinational based in Gloucester.

I joined Bourton Parish Council in 2004 and was Chairman from May 2007-2016 and then again from December 2016-May 2018 and I was also Vice Chairman of the Council from May 2018-May 2021. I am currently Chairman of the Community Centre Committee and also sit on the Finance & General Purposes Committee.

I was a Governor of The Cotswold School for over 20 years. In earlier years I was a keen sportsman but now confine myself only to golf. I have an interest in vintage cars, caravanning, gardening and the inevitable DIY. I am also a member of the North Cotswold Rotary Club.
