Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council
Cllr Bryan Sumner
I have lived in Bourton since 1983 with my wife Shirley and not forgetting Suzi our chocolate labrador. We have three daughters who attended the local schools. They are all now married and between them we have eight grandchildren. They form a significant part of our lives. I retired in 2002 having spent most of my working life in an industrial setting, the latter years, running the European Service and Parts Operation for an American Multinational based in Gloucester.
I joined Bourton Parish Council in 2004 and was Chairman from May 2007-2016. After a brief spell as Vice Chairman this year, I have now returned to my role as Chairman for the Council. I also chair the Planning Committee and the Community Centre Committee and serve on the Finance & General Purpose Committee.
I was a Governor of The Cotswold School for over 20 years. In earlier years I was a keen sportsman but now confine myself only to golf. I have an interest in vintage cars, caravanning, gardening and the inevitable DIY. I am also a member of the North Cotswold Rotary Club.
