Temporary Traffic Orders
Advanced warning of any local roads or footpaths subject to temporary traffic closure orders which will be listed on this page.
Station Road - New Proposed Zebra Crossing
Details of the proposals for a new zebra crossing on Station Road can be viewed by clicking on the attachments below. The formal public consultation period is 26th July to 17th August 2018.
A section of the A429 will be closed between 4 days and 4 weeks, between 1st September and 30th November, to carry out carriageway resurfacing works. All works will be carried out at night from 19:00-07:00 and a diversion will be in place as shown on the first attachment below.
A429 Fosseway (Hollow Fosse Farm) - Resurfacing Works
A section of the A429 at Hollow Fosse Farm (see second attachment below) will be closed from 13th to 19th September, to carry out carriageway resurfacing works. All works will be carried out at night from 19:00-07:00 and a diversion will be in place throughout the works.
This road will be closed (as detailed on the attachments below), from 17th September 2018 to 26th September 2018 (originally 10.9.18-21.09.18), to allow contractors to install a new foul sewer into the existing main foul sewer within the A429. The road will be closed 24/7 as the excavation will be 2-3 mtrs deep and has to cross the A429 to the middle of the opposite carriageway. The actual connection will be taking place from Fourways Cottage (adjacent the Unicorn car park) across the Northbound carriageway to midway in the Southbound carriageway.
As this is a main arterial route, Gloucestershire County Council is taking advantage of the closure to carry out some urgent carriageway works to save re-closing the road at a later date.
Simple plans showing the basic North/South & East/West diversion routes are attached below. There will be a HGV route taking vehicles from the B4077 through to the A429 at Bourton on the Water, to avoid Lower Swell. Additional signs will be placed to deter traffic from using roads passing through local villages.
