Statement regarding the death of Her Majesty the Queen
The Parish Council would like to express its sincere condolences to members of the Royal Family on the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth. She has been an important part of our country’s history and has been a guiding light for the whole country. Her passing will leave a gap in all our lives.
Councillor Bob Hadley
Chairman – Bourton on the Water Parish Council
There is a book of condolence in the reception area of The George Moore Community Centre and this will be available for your use between 9am and 3pm from Monday to Friday for a period of one month. There is also a book of condolence online at https://www.royal.uk/
Floral tributes can be left outside the front of the Victoria Hall, Bourton-on-the-Water. Please ensure the doorway is kept clear and remove all wrappings from flowers including cellophane, wire and/or elastic bands.
Councillors and staff at the Parish Council have arranged a small public event to mark the occasion. In line with national protocols the Parish Council Chairman, Bob Hadley, will be reading the Proclamation for the Parish of Bourton-on-the-Water at 2.30pm this Sunday 11th September. This will be followed by some prayers from the Reverend Rowena King.
The ceremony will take place outside The George Moore Community Centre, with proceedings to take place inside the Centre if the weather is wet.
We are inviting all parishioners and representatives of local organisations to attend, so we hope we will see you there.
