Gloucestershire County Council will be implementing a social distancing sheme in Bourton-on-the-Water which will take effect on Friday evening (5th June 2020).

GCC have three district signing zones and strategies. The first is the general village centre. This will see a general signing scheme with a mixture of temporary correx signs attached to existing street furniture and floor stickers on the footways at regular intervals. The second area is for high footfall routes which include routes to car parks and also the riverside walk. This area will also be signed as per the general area with the additional of signs telling pedestrians to walk on the left as well as markings on the footway to guide pedestrians to do this. The third area will include the pedestrian and road bridges where they will increase the levels of signage.

Please click here to see the areas included.

GCC are also arranging for staff to be in the village on Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th and Monday 8th June to highlight the new arrangements as pedestrians leave the car parks and within the village itself.
